The Romanian government has increased to 30,000 the total number of work permits that can be issued in 2020 to non-EU nationals, up by 50% from 20,000 in 2019.
As last year, this year’s quota has not been allocated by category of work permit.
Romania’s work permit quotas run from 1 January every year and are decided annually by the government, based on proposals from the Ministry of Labour.
Employers who may be affected are encouraged contact a Newland Chase immigration specialist for case-specific advice.
