COLOMBIA: New Requirement for Minors Travelling by Air

April 17, 2018

Effective 26th April 2018, anyone travelling by air within or out of Colombia accompanied by a minor child of seven years or under must provide a copy of the child’s birth certificate.

Those accompanying foreign national minors must carry an apostilled or legalised copy of the original birth certificate, while those accompanying Colombian national minors should carry a copy of the birth certificate issued by the notary where the birth was originally registered.

Please note that, regardless of the nationality of the child, if the minor is not travelling with both parents an authorization to travel from each absent parent must be carried.
