INDONESIA: Delays Expected in Work Authorization Processing as New Online System Launches

July 6, 2018

On Monday 2nd July 2018, the Ministry of Manpower (MOM) unexpectedly announced that its previous online application system for RPTKA (expatriate placement plan) and IMTA (work permit) applications would be replaced by a new online system, integrated with the Directorate General of Immigration, from Monday 9th July 2018.

MOM also stated that, to prepare for the new system, the existing system would be shut from 3rd July 2018. This means that from 3rd July until 9th July, no new applications are being accepted, and that the processing of applications already in the system has been stopped.

It is expected that there will be delays in the processing of applications through the new system, due to the backlog of applications and likely implementation issues.
