Newland Chase at Worldwide ERC® Global Workforce Symposium
It’s October already, and Newland Chase is looking forward to this month’s Worldwide ERC® Global Workforce Symposium (GWS) in Seattle, Washington USA. The largest annual gathering of relocation, global mobility, and HR professionals — this year’s GWS will take place on October 17-19 at the Washington State Convention Center. Three of Newland Chase’s managing directors will lead a team of six exhibiting who will offer attendees answers to their present concerns in the fast-moving world of global corporate mobility.
Meet Annette Wright, UK Immigration Director
On 26 September, Newland Chase’s Annette Wright, UK Immigration Director, and Marc Smith, Immigration Consultant, presented their webinar "Racing to Brexit: Six Months to Go" – where they discussed how company HR and mobility managers can prepare their UK and EU employees for the fast-approaching official Brexit day on 29 March 2019. In this session, they shed some much needed light on the events of the last two years, where we are now, and what lies ahead. Included was the status of current plans for EU nationals in the UK, current plans for UK nationals in the EU, potential coming changes from the recently released MAC report, and practical steps to take right now.

Newland Chase is proud to have had three executive leaders present an educational session at this year’s Global Business Travel Association Convention (GBTA) 2018, held August 11-15 at the San Diego Convention Center in San Diego, California. On June 27, Newland Chase presented the webinar “Responding to Rejection: The Ongoing Shortage in the UK’s Tier 2.” The discussion focused on the ongoing shortages and rejections companies are currently facing when applying for restricted Certificates of Sponsorship (CoS) to sponsor non-EU foreign nationals for employment through the Tier 2 program, the UK’s most common employment-based visa route. The live interactive session explored the current status, the reason for the ongoing shortage, the outlook for the coming months, and practical strategies for companies dealing with CoS rejections.

It was an honour for Newland Chase to have exhibited at the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) 2018 Annual Conference and Exposition June 17 – 20 at McCormick Place in Chicago, Illinois U.S.A. This was SHRM’s 70th annual conference and exposition, but the first time Newland Chase had participated as an exhibitor.
