Newland Chase is proud to have had three executive leaders present an educational session at this year’s Global Business Travel Association Convention (GBTA) 2018, held August 11-15 at the San Diego Convention Center in San Diego, California. Newland Chase’s Global Managing Director, Steven Diehl, moderated a panel consisting of Pete Fox, CIBT Chief Information Officer, Sophy King, VP of Global Immigration, and Stephen Gheerow, Travel Services Manager for the Ford Foundation. This marked the first time CIBT and Newland Chase had a featured educational session at this leading industry event.
Their dynamic session in the Data Analytics and Trends educational track was titled, “Personal Data from Biometrics to Social Media: Is Your Data Secure?”. The four speakers offered their expert insight on the timely subject of the increasing level of personal data collection in visa application and border entry processes and the resulting personal data concerns for which mobility and travel managers should be prepared. They discussed everything from biometrics to social media accounts and how mobility and travel managers should be preparing their travellers for this increasing collection, usage, and storage of what many once considered their private information.
“It’s gratifying to be selected to present a session at GBTA this year,” said moderator Steven Diehl. “GBTA is the premier corporate travel event each year. We’ve put together an outstanding panel with Pete, Sophy, and Stephen and a timely, cutting-edge topic. It should be an informative and lively discussion for attendees.”
